When Nick Suzuki made his NHL debut on October 3, 2019, the Montreal Canadiens had high hopes that he would be a big part of the team’s future. As a first-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft by the Vegas Golden Knights, the Canadiens made a huge splash by trading for the young center in 2018. Suzuki has more than delivered in his time in Montreal. After scoring 41 points in a shortened rookie season, he matched those 41 points in even fewer games in 2020-21, helping lead the Canadiens to an appearance in the 2021 Stanley Cup Finals. As an alternate captain, Suzuki stepped his game up to another level in 2021-22, scoring 21 goals to go with 40 assists while earning a spot in his first NHL All-Star Game. Since being named captain, he has continued to improve in each year since, as his goal and point totals increased, including career highs of 33 goals and 44 assists (77 total points) in the 2023-24 season. Suzuki returned to the NHL All-Star Game in each of those years, giving him three consecutive appearances.
