Traded from the Montreal Canadiens to the Colorado Avalanche mid-way through the 1995-96 season Patrick Roy made an immediate impact with his new team helping the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup in 1996. While Roy built his reputation with the team he started his career with the Montreal Canadiens he was just as good if not better in his 8 years with the Avalanche. In his time with Colorado Roy won 2 Stanley Cup titles, 1 Conn Smythe trophy, and 1 William M. Jennings trophy. Along with these feats Roy had his best season personally during the 2001-2002 season where he would post career bests in shutouts (9 for the season), goals against average (1.94), and save percentage (.925).
