Playing all but 3 of the 14 seasons of his career with the Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche, Peter Forsberg scored 885 career points, 755 of which came while he was with the Nordiques/Avalanche. Born in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden, Forsberg won 2 Stanley Cup titles with the Avalanche including the franchise’s first in 1996. Known by fans as “Peter the Great” and “Foppa”, Forsberg retired with the Avalanche in 2011, his number retired by the team on opening night the following season on October 8th, 2011, his number 21 to never be worn again by another Avalanche player. Forsberg was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on November 17, 2014. Additionally, Forsberg was named one of NHL’s 100 greatest all-time players by the NHL as part of the league’s 100th anniversary celebration in 2017.
