Details
On October 8, 2011, opening night of the 2011-2012 season, the Colorado Avalanche retired the jersey number of Peter Forsberg. With a video tribute and a standing ovation from the home crowd Forsberg called the night “unbelievable”, saying “I will forever remember this”. Avalanche and NHL fans alike will always remember Forsberg’s career. Known for his rough physical play, Forsberg brought home two Stanley Cups to Colorado, most notably in the franchise’s first season in Colorado in 1996 where he would score 116 regular season points and 21 more playoff points. The 2002-2003 season was Forsberg’s best with Colorado, he would score 106 points while leading the Avalanche to their 5th Northwest Division and 9th consecutive division title while also winning the Hart and Art Ross Trophies.
This image is autographed and inscribed “Foppa” by Peter Forsberg. Forsberg’s signature and inscription were witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process. This item is limited to 21.
