In their very first season in Colorado the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup, five years later they would win another Stanley Cup making it two Stanley Cup titles in their first six seasons in Colorado. At the center of their run and playing a major role in both titles was Peter Forsberg. During both of Forsberg’s Stanley Cup winning seasons he would accumulate 240 points, 71 goals, and 173 assists (including the playoffs). During the 95-96 Stanley Cup Finals Forsberg would score three goals in the first period of Game 2 against the Panthers, only the sixth player in NHL history to score three goals in one period, the Avalanche would go on to win the game 8-1 and sweep the series 4-0. The 1995-96 season was also Forsberg’s highest scoring season of his career.
