After playing his Minor Midget AAA hockey for the York Simcoe Express and recording 200 points over two seasons, it was evident that Quinton Byfield was ready to make the next jump in his hockey career. At 6’4, 215 pounds, Byfield displays extreme athleticism in being able to play as quick, explosive, and powerful as he plays with his given stature. Despite winning just 17 games in the previous season, the Sudbury Wolves felt confident that Byfield was built to be the guy to bring excitement and energy to their organization and fan base. With the first overall pick in the 2018 OHL Draft, Sudbury selected Byfield with every expectation placed upon him becoming a transcendent player for their team. Byfield stepped up to the challenge without any hesitation as he was able to jump in and lead the Wolves to the conference semifinals and a 26 game turnaround while recording 29 goals and 61 total points during his 2019 CHL Rookie of the Year campaign.
