With aspirations of becoming a professional hockey player since a young age, Quinton Byfield showed extreme passion and motivation as soon as he was drafted first overall by the Sudbury Wolves in the 2018 OHL Draft as he was determined to make his presence felt immediately. In just 64 games, Byfield scored 29 points and dished 32 assists for a total of 61 points in his rookie season. The remarkable play didn’t stop here, though, as Byfield compiled three goals and five assists in the playoffs in order to lead the Wolves to the conference semifinals after sweeping the Mississauga Steelheads in the first round. After having one of the best CHL rookie performances of the past decade, Byfield received the honor of winning both the OHL and CHL Rookie of the Year awards.
