While growing up in Ontario as one of the top young prospects for most of his life, Quinton Byfield has displayed great sacrifice, motivation, and talent in progressing through his hockey career. At 6’4, 215 pounds, Byfield provides countless defenders with issues due to his versatility with and without the puck. This rare combination of size and speed has made for Byfield to become a hot commodity and was seen as he took the ice for Team Canada in the 2020 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. At the 2020 WJC, Team Canada was sparked by their aggressive offense and strategic defensive play as they outscored opponents 32-17 over their seven game run which was eventually capped with a 4-3 victory over Russia in the Gold medal game. Having won a Gold medal at the age of 17, Byfield has set the bar high for the rest of his career but is confident in his solid foundation being able to guide him to more successes as he embarks on his journey in the NHL.
