Born in Georgetown, Ontario, Canada, Sarah Fillier started skating at the age of 2 and began playing hockey at just 3 years old. Ever since she started playing hockey, Fillier has been a natural at the sport. Fillier played boys hockey until the age of 12, which helped with her quick development into the sport. At the age of 16 Fillier first joined Canada’s national team skating with the U18 team in a three-game series against the United States, Fillier would score 3 goals and win a silver medal with Canada. 2018 saw Fillier play for the U18, U22, and National Women’s Team all in one calendar year. There, Fillier would win a bronze medal at her second IIHF U18 Women’s World Championships before then joining the U22 team in a summer series against the United States and finally playing with the senior squad for the Four Nations Cup. Overall between the Olympics, World Championships, and World U18 Championships, Fillier has won a total of 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.
