Details
Wayne Gretzky began his NHL career with the Oilers, his first season being the 1979-80 season. In Gretzky’s first NHL season he was awarded the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s Most Valuable Player. Gretzky would go on to win the award the next seven seasons in a row. Three seasons after his debut season (1983) Gretzky was named captain of the Oilers, a title he would keep for the duration of his time with the team. While Gretzky would play for a total of four different NHL teams his most remembered time was his tenure with Oilers, and one of his most memorable seasons with the Oilers would be the season of his first Stanley Cup title, the 1983-84 season. This season saw Gretzky eclipse 200 regular season points (205) for the second time in his career while also scoring a postseason-high 35 points during the playoffs.
This print contains a replica impression of Wayne Gretzky’s right hand in orange and black ink. This art piece, known as Tegata, is autographed by Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process. This item is limited to 40.
