Wayne Gretzky Autographed New York Rangers Acrylic Puck
Signed By: Wayne Gretzky
Type: Autographed Hockey Puck
Pen Color: Black
Details
On July 21, 1996, Wayne Gretzky signed with the New York Rangers, deciding to take a smaller contract than other offers in exchange for the chance to play with his friend and former teammate Mark Messier. As promised in his introductory press conference this would be the final team that Gretzky would play for. Gretzky played a total of 3 seasons with the Rangers and while he would never put up the 100+ point seasons like he did in the early days of his career he remained healthy and one of the best players on the roster. Gretzky would play all 82 games during the 1996-1997 season and lead the Rangers with 97 points in helping them reach the Eastern Conference Finals. Gretzky would end his career by leading the Rangers in points during the ’97-’98 season (90 points) & ’98-’99 season (62 points) while making 2 more all-star games bringing his total all-star games played in to 18.
