Details
Playing in his 5th season in the NHL, Wayne Gretzky had already won the Hart Trophy 4 times, the Art Ross Trophy 3 times, and the Ted Lindsay Award twice. Even the 200-point plateau, an accomplishment unheard of in today’s brand of hockey, Gretzky had reached in the 1981-82 season (212 points). By the time Gretzky reached his 5th season in the NHL there weren’t many firsts left in his already outstanding career, but it was the 1983-84 season that would be known as the season he finally put it all together. Following a year in which the Oilers were swept by the Islanders in the Stanley Cup Finals Gretzky put up one of the best all-around seasons of his career. Gretzky would finish with 205 points (87 goals and 118 assists) in winning the Hart Trophy, the Art Ross Trophy, and the Ted Lindsay Award. Gretzky’s 35 playoff points made him the postseason scoring leader and helped him to win his 1st Stanley Cup Title.
This p-velvet archival paper is autographed by Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process. This framed item is limited to 40.
