Details
In 1974, Gary Player won his third Open Championship at the Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in England. He won the tournament in very unique fashion on his final stretch. After being inches away from the clubhouse, Player was forced to putt lefty with the back of his putter. His miraculous shot would set him up perfectly to escape with a bogey. Player’s lead was so significant that his bogey would not matter. After sinking his final putt, he officially became the second golfer to win the British Open in three different decades. His first victory came in 1959, and his second was in 1968.
This image is autographed by Gary Player with a black paint pen. Player’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck Authenticated representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process. This item is limited to 100.
