Among many brilliant moments in Justin Thomas’ golf career, one of the most memorable was a drive on the second playoff hole in the 2022 PGA Championship. The then 29-year-old played well enough at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma to find himself in third place after the second round before slipping to a seventh-place tie after three rounds. Heading into the final round seven strokes behind the leader, Thomas needed to be on top of his game and have a little luck on his side with help from his competition. The Kentucky native did his part with a solid -3 score on the day and then had to play the waiting game while the rest of the field completed their rounds. Thomas found himself in a three-hole playoff against Will Zalatoris and the two had matching birdies on the first playoff hole. The championship moment came on the next hole as Thomas drove the green and took the lead with a birdie. He held on to the lead to secure his second career major win (and second career PGA Championship win) and his 15th win on the PGA Tour.
