Shanshan Feng Autographed & Inscribed “Journey to No. 1” 24 x 20

The top left image of this designed piece is taken from Shanshan Feng's first LPGA Tour tournament as a professional, the February 2008 SBS Open at Turtle Bay. She didn't make the cut that weekend after shooting 72-79 in the first two rounds. But it set off a chain reaction where she would gradually rise up the rankings at an impressive pace. Over the course of the next 10 years, she would rise in the rankings until she reached the No. 1 spot in November 2017. She held the spot for 23 weeks, which still ranks as the eighth-longest streak in LPGA history. During the streak, she captured her first major title with a victory in the 2012 LPGA Championship. The various action images in this piece help frame the centerpiece, which is from The Blue Bay LPGA tournament in Hainan Island, China. With a victory in that event, she rose to No. 1 in the rankings, becoming the first golfer from China to be ranked No. 1 in the world. The English translation of the Mandarin Chinese characters on the right side of the piece roughly means 'victory lane.' Feng has autographed and inscribed '#1 23 weeks' on this limited edition (50) 'Journey to No. 1' 24" x 20" designed image in black paint pen.
