Born in Parry Sound, Ontario, the third of five children, Bobby Orr began skating at 4 years old and began playing organized hockey at just 5 years old. From the beginning Orr stood out from his peers. Orr would be discovered by the Bruins at 12 years old playing with the Parry Sound Bantam All-Stars while the Bruins were scouting two other players. At 14 years old Orr would sign with the Bruins and begin playing junior hockey in Oshawa with 19- and 20-year-olds, he would make all-league second team his first season. Many who followed Orr from his childhood knew he was destined for stardom; sure enough Orr wouldn’t disappoint. Orr would make his NHL debut in 1966, during the 1969-70 season he would have a career year winning his first Stanley Cup Title and becoming the only player to ever win the Hart, Art Ross, Norris, and Conn Smythe Trophies in the same season.
