Peter Forsberg & Joe Sakic Autographed “Sharing the Cup” 36x15 Image

As the Nordiques moved to Colorado and became the Colorado Avalanche they were led by two big names: Joe Sakic and a young rising star entering his second season in the NHL by the name of Peter Forsberg. Playing their first season in Colorado the two centers put on a show for the 1995-96 season. Forsberg would put up the best individual numbers of his career scoring 30 goals with 86 assists, good for 116 points. As the team’s captain Joe Sakic was equally impressive scoring 51 goals with 69 assists, good for a career high 120 points. The two would lead the Avalanche to a Pacific Division title and a four-game sweep of the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals. Sakic and Forsberg were almost just as potent 5 years later in the 2000-2001 season as Sakic would post up another remarkable season of 118 points while Forsberg would tally 89 points in leading the Avalanche to their second franchise Stanley Cup Championship.
