As a kid, Quinton Byfield dreamed of being one of the NHL’s top defenders. His favorite player growing up was defenseman Sergei Gonchar of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Byfield has the number 55 on the back of his jersey to honor his childhood icon, Gonchar, who wore that number throughout his career. Having the complete skills of a two-way player, Byfield made the position change to center at a young age. He looks to become one of the all-time great centers to put on a Kings jersey. Byfield’s promising scoring career started when he notched his first goal against the New York Islanders.
