Hailing from hockey’s biggest hotbed of talent Shane Wright knows the expectations that come from being a young Canadian hockey prospect. Prior to being drafted in the NHL Wright spent his time with the OHL affiliate Kingston Frontenacs and was just the sixth player to be granted exceptional status. He handled the pressure and expectations with ease achieving numerous awards while with the Frontenacs including CHL Rookie of the Year in 2019-2020 and the 2021-2022 CHL Top Draft Prospect Award. Wright was drafted in the first round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Seattle Kraken, a team that has only existed since 2021. Wright spent the 2022-2023 season splitting time between the Kraken, Kingston Frontenacs, Coachella Firebirds, and Team Canada, as the 2023-2024 season rolls around Wright will look to play a full-time role with Kraken.
