Details

While everyone knows and respects Wayne Gretzky for rewriting the NHL’s record book throughout his unprecedented career, Gretzky’s most significant impact on the game comes from the mark he made on the sport’s popularity within the warmer, nontraditional hockey states once he was traded to the LA Kings and had the Hollywood spotlight on his dazzling play. Due to the Gretzky trade taking the exposure of hockey to a new level, the NHL was able to add 4 expansion teams within the southern part of the United States in the early 90’s including the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Florida Panthers. Now, pair an external influence on the game along with the record owner for most goals, assists, and points, in both a season and career, and it is not surprising to see why there is no debate on who the greatest hockey player of all time is. Inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame in the summer of ’99, The Great One’s legacy will forever remain immortalized long past his playing days.

This plaque is autographed and inscribed “HHOF” by Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky’s signature and inscription were witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process. This plaque is not limited.
