Details

While the most popular Edmonton Oilers jersey style will always be the home royal blue and orange, the classic whites (which were traditionally worn for home games during Gretzky’s era) have their own special place in Oilers fans’ hearts. In June of 2022, Gretzky’s white game-used Oilers jersey from his final game played with the Oilers in the 1988 Stanley Cup Finals was sold for $1.452 million, a record for the most expensive hockey jersey ever sold. The Oilers swept the Boston Bruins in the 1988 Stanley Cup Finals and while Game 4 was initially planned (and started) at the Boston Garden, it was suspended due to a power failure and subsequently moved back to Northlands Coliseum. The Oilers would win Game 4 over the Bruins 6-3, thus finishing the sweep and making it Gretzky’s final game as an Oiler (he would be traded to the Kings in the summer).

This Vintage Throwback White Mitchell & Ness 1986-1987 Edmonton Oilers jersey is autographed by Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process.
